Outlook 2016 imap folders not updating

I am running Outlook 2013, which I (sometimes) use to read my IMAP email.

However, I can see using the server-based mail reader (squirrelmail) that Outlook is not properly syncing my Inbox folder - Outlook thinks there are 89 messages, but there are really 91.

But user can login to OWA (Outlook Web Access) or to continue to access the missing email messages, appointments, contacts, tasks, journal entries, notes, posted items, and documents.

I can't see any way to "force refresh" the list of messages for an Outlook folder?

Is it possible some login attempts fail while others succeed?

hen using Microsoft Outlook client to access Exchange mailboxes and Inbox, the Outlook does not actually update the all mailboxes and Inbox folder.

The content and emails in the mailboxes are not refreshed, i.e.

This sometimes happens with me a gmail, particularly when the IP address changes (though gmail is smart enough to give a warning when an unrecognized login attempt is made, squirrelmail may fail silently).

I have tried multiple times to use my IMAP account with Outlook 2013, but it has gotten irreversibly out of sync each time.

I'm having a problem similar to this but the provided answer didn't resolve it.

Symptoms: Using a non-gmail email service, I've configured IMAP across multiple devices using the same settings and this one instance of Outlook is the only one not working correctly.

Step 2: Click the IMAP folders button on the Folder tab.

See screen shot: Note: If you are using Outlook 2007, please click the Tools IMAP Folders.

See screen shot: Then you will notice although the specified IMAP folder remains on the Navigation Pane, it has stopped subscribing in your Microsoft Outlook.
